Musical devices have been thrown on a bonfire in Afghanistan, with the ruling Taliban authorities declaring music is immoral.
Since they seized energy in August 2021, the Taliban has imposed laws and legal guidelines that align with a conservative view of Islam, together with banning girls from work and college.
Now, within the northwestern area of Herat, officers from Afghanistan’s vice ministry have been throwing musical devices on a bonfire, after gathering them from town.
The burning pile included guitars and different stringed devices, a harmonium and a drum, in addition to amplifiers and audio system.
Uzair-ur-Rahman Mohajer, the deputy director of the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Herat, mentioned the devices had been rounded up after a fatwa was issued by students.
“Promoting music causes moral corruption and playing it will cause the youth to go astray,” he mentioned.
Earlier this month, the Taliban banned girls’s magnificence salons in Afghanistan – with out giving a motive.
