In the aftermath of his 6-1, 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-4 Australian Open quarterfinal loss to Alexander Zverev, Alcaraz was requested if any man can cease the 36-year-old Serbian celebrity from capturing a document twenty fifth Grand Slam crown this weekend.

Alcaraz, the one man to defeat Djokovic in a significant match final 12 months, stated there may be one man who can derail the defending champion: Jannik Sinner.

“Well, I think the players that are in the semifinals have the level to beat him. Let’s see,” Alcaraz advised the media in Melbourne. “It’s not easy to beat Novak in a tournament, but I think it’s even tougher in a Grand Slam.

“But [Novak] has to face Jannik Sinner, that he is taking part in an unbelievable sport. He has not dropped a set on this match. That implies that he has the extent and the capability to beat Novak.”

Two-time Grand Slam champion Alcaraz said all three semifinalists—two-time finalist Daniil Medvedev, Olympic gold-medal champion Zverev and Italian Davis Cup hero Sinner—are capable of dethroning the defending champion.

Ousted from Melbourne, Alcaraz said he goes from contender to fan, who will watch it all go down this weekend.

“So let’s have a look at. I’m gonna watch the matches, in fact,” Alcaraz said. “And yeah, I feel the gamers which are on this stage has the extent to beat him.”
