A small aircraft towing a banner lands within the ocean off a crowded New Hampshire seaside; pilot unharmed

HAMPTON BEACH, N.H. — A small aircraft towing a banner landed within the ocean off a crowded New Hampshire seaside on Saturday, and lifeguards rescued the pilot, who was unharmed, authorities mentioned.

The single-engine Piper PA-18 aircraft landed about midday off Hampton Beach, witnesses mentioned. The Federal Aviation Administration mentioned in an announcement that the pilot was the one individual on board.

Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno informed WMUR-TV that the pilot was rescued by lifeguards, and wasn’t damage.

The aircraft has since been pulled to shore and was sitting on the seaside.

The FAA mentioned it might examine the reason for the incident, together with the National Transportation Safety Board.

The Hampton Police Department and the New Hampshire Beach Patrol didn’t instantly reply to messages for remark.
