GOP Sen. Katie Britt says she is recovering after sudden numbness in her face

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, of Alabama, stated Monday that she has returned dwelling from the hospital and is recovering after a non-life threatening situation induced sudden numbness in her face.

Britt, 41, stated she all of a sudden skilled the numbness final weekend in Montgomery and was briefly admitted to a neighborhood hospital for remark. Doctors decided the signs had been a results of swelling of a facial nerve, “most likely caused by a post-viral infection,” she stated.

“My condition is not life-threatening, and recovery could take several weeks. I am grateful for the medical professionals providing excellent care, and my family and I are deeply grateful for your prayers,” Britt stated in a press release.



A specialist from the University of Alabama at Birmingham evaluated her in an outpatient setting and concurred in a remedy plan, Britt stated.

Congress is at the moment in a five-week recess that started Friday and can final till Sept. 5.
