Urías arrested and charged with home violence

Dodgers left-hander Julio Urías was arrested and charged with felony home violence on Sunday evening.

“We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías,” the Dodgers mentioned in an announcement launched on Monday. “While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.”

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, Urías was launched from a Los Angeles jail Monday morning on $50,000 bond and has a court docket date set for Sept. 27. A spokesperson for MLB mentioned the league is conscious of the arrest and might be investigating.

This marks the second time that Urías has been arrested on home violence prices. In 2019, Urías was arrested after moving into an argument along with his spouse in a car parking zone. His spouse later mentioned that she fell on her personal.

Despite not being charged, Urías, 27, was nonetheless suspended 20 video games with out pay by Major League Baseball that season for violating the league’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. No participant has been suspended twice beneath that coverage because it was instituted by MLB in 2015.
