White Sox All-Star Luis Robert Jr. says he’ll take part in baseball’s Home Run Derby

CHICAGO (AP) – Chicago White Sox All-Star Luis Robert Jr. plans to take part in baseball’s Home Run Derby in Seattle on Monday.

Robert made the announcement Wednesday on Instagram, with a spotlight video and a caption saying “The Panther is ready for the Home Run Derby! #homerunderby2023.”

“I’m pretty sure I’m going to feel very happy during those two days,” Robert stated. “It’s going to be very special for me.”



Robert will now be collaborating in one other showcase occasion after being chosen to his first All-Star staff. He was second within the American League behind Shohei Ohtani with 25 homers, to associate with a .276 common and 49 RBIs.

“If he’s happy about it, I’m happy about it,” supervisor Pedro Grifol stated. “It’s a great experience. I remember Salvy (Salvador Perez) doing it over there in Kansas City. He was pretty pumped about it, and he had a really good time.”
