Sinner Out of Barcelona, Musetti Moves Into Semifinals

The Italian rematch must wait.

Jannik Sinner pulled out of Barcelona as a result of sickness previous to at present’s scheduled quarterfinal rematch vs. buddy Lorenzo Sonego.

Medvedev on Zverev: We Were Never Close Friends

“Sad to have to withdraw from my match today in Barcelona. I’ve been feeling unwell for a few days now,” Sinner posted on social media. “Today the sickness got worse and I’m not able to play. I’ll take some time to rest and recover.

“Thanks for all of your assist & good luck to Lorenzo for the remainder of the occasion.”

No. 4-seeded Sinner has reached the quarterfinals or higher in seven of eight tournaments this season. Sinner owns a 26-6 report, which is second to Daniil Medvedev for many ATP wins in 2023.

The ninth-seeded Musetti takes the walkover into Saturday’s semifinals in opposition to both two-time Monte-Carlo champion Stefanos Tsitsipas or Alex de Minaur.

Yesterday, de Minaur walked into the quarterfinals when Grigor Dimitrov withdrew as a result of sickness.
