Explosion of July Fourth fireworks in Michigan kills 1, injures 9

A lady in Holland, Michigan, was killed and 9 others have been injured after an explosion at a non-public Fourth of July fireworks present Tuesday.

Emergency crews responded to a report of an explosion at a residence in Holland at 11:09 p.m. and proceeded to pronounce the lady useless on-site from accidents to her again and chest.

Sixty to 80 individuals have been on the celebration when the fireworks went off.



“I don’t know if it was like a homemade firework or something somebody had and it was almost halfway through the show and it got lit somehow and it exploded, and shrapnel was everywhere,” a present attendee who requested to not be named informed WOOD-TV, a Grand Rapids NBC affiliate.

“It shook the whole neighborhood. It shook my lawn chair — that’s how loud it was,” neighbor Abby Terpstra informed WWMT-TV, a Kalamazoo CBS channel.

The deceased 43-year-old girl has not been publicly named by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The 9 different victims have been hospitalized with accidents starting from minor to crucial.

Several close by houses and automobiles have been additionally broken within the blast. An investigation continues as as to whether the fireworks have been faulty or lit incorrectly.
