Willie Nelson, Missy Elliot headline new inductees into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow and Missy Elliot are a part of the brand new class of inductees within the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The singers are joined by the band Rage Against the Machine, singer Kate Bush, soul group the Spinners and the late pop star George Michael, the corridor introduced Wednesday.

“This year’s incredible group of inductees reflects the diverse artists and sounds that define rock ‘n’ roll,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, stated in a press launch. “We are honored that this November’s induction ceremony in New York will coincide with two milestones in music culture: the 90th birthday of Willie Nelson and the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip-hop.”

Other expertise becoming a member of within the induction: singer Chaka Khan, lyricist Bernie Taupin, hip-hop forefather DJ Kool Herc, guitarist Link Wray, “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius and file govt Al Kooper.   

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has developed into extra of a normal music corridor of fame prior to now 15 years. Inductees equivalent to Madonna, Tupac, ABBA, Donna Summer and rap group N.W.A. have helped break the pattern of letting in solely rock legends.

The induction ceremony shall be held Nov. 3 in Brooklyn.
