Andreescu Has Two Torn Ligaments in Left Ankle, Rehab Already Started

Bianca Andreescu has torn two ligaments in her left angle and is uncertain a few timetable for her return.

The Canadian, who was pressured to retire throughout her spherical of 16 match with Ekaterina Alexandrova after taking a tumble on her baseline on Monday evening, took to Twitter to share information on the harm.

“Results show that I’ve torn two ligaments in my left ankle,” she wrote. “It’s tough to say exactly how long it will take, but let’s just say it could’ve been much worse!!”

The 22-year-old says she plans to take it daily, and he or she’s optimistic about her restoration.

“I’m going to take it day by day,” she wrote. “I am optimistic that with the right work, rehab and preparation, I’ll be back on court soon. Rehab process has already started and I will continue to give updates.”
