Russia hits Kyiv in pre-dawn assault as air defenses work to cease relentless bombardment

KYIV, Ukraine — Russia launched a pre-dawn assault on Ukraine’s capital Tuesday as its air defenses labored to cease drones in what has been a relentless wave of daylight and nighttime bombardments focusing on Kyiv.

The buzzing of drones and loud explosions had been heard as Ukrainian air protection responded to the third Russia aerial assault on the capital within the final 24 hours.
