News of an obvious explosion on the dam – sending large quantities of water throughout swathes of southern Ukraine – was met with world outcry and accusations of a struggle crime.

Russia has blamed Kyiv for what occurred, however US intelligence is “leaning towards” Moscow being behind the assault.

New photos launched by Maxar Technologies present the impression of the catastrophe from above.

Before the incident, the dam had held again the Kakhovka reservoir, an enormous synthetic lake holding 18.2 cubic kilometres of water.
