Wheeler’s no-hit bid for Phillies damaged up in eighth on Nevin’s one-out single

PHILADELPHIA — Zack Wheeler’s bid for a no-hitter was damaged up Thursday evening when Tyler Nevin singled for the Detroit Tigers with one out within the eighth inning towards the Philadelphia Phillies right-hander.

Jonathan Schoop reached on a throwing error by Phillies third baseman Josh Harrison, and Nevin adopted with a clear single to proper subject that put runners on the corners.
