PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have employed two-time NHL All-Star Jason Spezza as assistant basic supervisor.
President of hockey operations Kyle Dubas introduced the transfer on Wednesday. Spezza spent the 2022-23 season working as a particular assistant to Dubas when Dubas served as the overall supervisor in Toronto.
The 40-year-old Spezza scored 363 targets throughout a 19-year NHL profession with Ottawa, Dallas and Toronto. He retired in May 2022 and instantly went to work for Dubas. Spezza’s position in Toronto included working inside a number of departments with the Maples Leafs, together with participant personnel, participant improvement, minor league operations and hockey analysis and improvement.
