Dilano van’t Hoff: Dutch driver killed in race crash at Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium

A teenage driver has died in a crash at a race in Belgium.

Dilano van’t Hoff, who was from the Netherlands, was competing on the Formula Regional European Championship.

Organisers stated the 18-year-old MP Motorsport driver was competing in a morning race on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The race organisers stated they had been “devastated” by the information.

“Everyone associated with the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa is devastated by the news that Formula Regional EU by Alpine driver Dilano van ‘t Hoff lost his life in an accident during this morning’s race,” they stated.

“We express our deepest condolences to his family, friends and MP Motorsport.”

A minute’s silence was held earlier than the beginning of the principle 24 Hours of Spa race on Saturday.

Motorsport’s governing physique FIA additionally expressed its sympathies after Mr van’t Hoff’s loss of life.

“Dilano has been a part of our racing family since his motorsport debut with MP back in 2021,” they stated.

“We offer our sincere condolences to Dilano’s family and his loved ones, and are in full support of them and our team members who have lost not only a driver but a friend as well.”

French driver Anthoine Hubert was killed following a multi-car crash throughout a Formula Two race on the identical circuit on the 2019 Belgium Grand Prix.
