A lady socked a black bear within the nostril final week after it chased her canine out of the woods and into the yard of her Maine dwelling, in line with officers.
Lynn Kelly was tending to her backyard in Porter, Maine, on Friday when her canine started barking and bumped into the forest, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife advised USA Today.
Ms. Kelly, 64, adopted behind till she noticed her pup darting again towards her dwelling — with a black bear in scorching pursuit
Wildlife officers stated that Ms. Kelly confronted the bear by standing up “as tall as she could” after which punching the creature within the nostril.
“It just kept coming closer, so I had to fight him off because I wasn’t going to run from him because I know they’ll catch you,” Ms. Kelly advised WHDH in Boston. “I tried to give him a punch.”
The black bear countered by biting Ms. Kelly’s proper hand and wounding her wrist, however the animal then retreated again into the forest.
She was handled on the hospital for shallow puncture wounds to her wrist.
