The Empire Cinemas chain has entered administration, resulting in the lack of 150 jobs and the closure of six cinemas.
Eight of the 14 cinemas within the group – below the Empire Cinemas and Tivoli manufacturers – will stay open.
But the places which were closed with fast impact are:
• Bishop’s Stortford
• Catterick Garrison
• Sunderland
• Swindon
• Walthamstow
• Wigan
Sites to stay open are situated in:
• Birmingham
• Clydebank
• High Wycombe
• Ipswich
• Sutton
• Bath
• Cheltenham
The directors say they’re looking for a purchaser.
The monetary impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation and the price of dwelling disaster have been blamed for the closures.
