Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones launches gray squirrel hunt for pop-up restaurant’s burgers

A farmer is on the hunt for gray squirrels for use in burgers at his pop-up restaurant.

Gareth Wyn Jones, who has racked up extra 1,000,000 followers throughout his social media accounts – together with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok – will probably be serving squirrel burgers at an occasion close to Bangor, North Wales, subsequent month.

Red squirrels are a legally protected species and it’s unlawful to deliberately kill, injure or disturb them.

But gray squirrels are classed as an invasive species and have restricted authorized safety.

In the US, most states classify squirrels as sport animals that may be killed for meals.
