Henry Ramos has hit a whole lot of homers in his skilled profession — 115, to be precise, between the Majors (one), Minors (89) and international leagues (25).
But actually none are just like the one he shot into the St. Paul, Minn., sky on Thursday evening.
Batting within the prime of the sixth inning for Triple-A Louisville, Ramos jumped on a first-pitch sinker down the pipe and crushed it 495 toes to left-center. It was the second-longest homer hit at Triple-A since Statcast started monitoring distances in 2022, trailing solely Jo Adell (514 toes) on June 20.
Ramos pummeled the ball at 108 mph, his fourth-hardest contact made on the 12 months, and the ball simply saved carrying. It hung within the air for six.18 seconds and saved flying till it shot over CHS Field‘s outfield berm and past any fan’s grasp.
The 31-year-old knew it was a no-doubter instantly, too, as he hung his bat within the air and flipped it over dwelling plate. A worthy celebration for one of many largest bops of the season.
