Three lifeless after US marine helicopter crash in Australia

Three US marines have died and 5 have been significantly injured after a helicopter crashed throughout a navy train in Australia.

The v-22 Osprey plane was carrying 23 US marines off the coast of Darwin throughout a coaching train when it got here down on Melville Island at round 9.30am on Sunday (1am BST), based on the Australian navy.

An announcement by the Darwin Marine Rotational Force stated the reason for the crash is underneath investigation and that restoration efforts have been ongoing.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Northern Territory Police Commissioner Michael Murphy stated:”Those injured are 23 US Marine Corps, and we are doing everything we can to return them safely back to Darwin for treatment.

“Five marines have been returned to Darwin for therapy with the remaining being triaged on the scene.

“Additional police and defence personnel have been deployed to Melville Island to support operations, triage injured people and return them to Darwin and also maintain the crash scene while investigations continue.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had earlier known as the crash “tragic”, telling reporters: “Obviously it is a regrettable incident.

“The Australian Defence Force are cooperating with our friends in the United States defence force to make sure that we provide every assistance possible.

“Our focus as a authorities and as a division of defence may be very a lot on incident response and on ensuring that each help and help is given at this troublesome time.”

The incident occurred through the Exercise Predators Run 2023 – a navy train that includes 2,500 troops from Australia, the US, Indonesia, East Timor and the Philippines.
