Michael Jordan’s author-signed copy of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ to be auctioned

A Thirty fifth-anniversary copy of Harper Lee’s novel “To Kill A Mockingbird” signed by the creator and addressed to NBA famous person Michael Jordan in 1995 goes up on the market at public sale.

The public sale is being held by Moments in Time, which makes a speciality of autographs, signed manuscripts and photographs, and letters.

The message to Mr. Jordan is laconic, studying “To Michael Jordan — best wishes, Harper Lee,” as proven in a photograph of the entrance of the e-book posted within the public sale itemizing.



A letter despatched by the outfit placing the e-book up on the market, Specs Fine Books, is included within the itemizing; the Aug. 16 missive particulars the chain of custody of the e-book.

Mr. Jordan was despatched the signed e-book in 1995 as a part of a class of individuals with whom the late Lee had some connection. While her ties to Mr. Jordan aren’t disclosed, it was saved by Mr. Jordan and could be displayed in a house library he shared with former spouse, Juanita Vanoy.

Ms. Vanoy saved the e-book when the couple divorced in 2006, together with the remainder of the library. In 2021, she bought the e-book to Specs; the proceeds of that sale went to a Chicago city literacy program, per the letter.

Moments in Time is just not publicly itemizing the beginning worth; the e-book is value $24,000, in keeping with TMZ.
