Arizona: Man arrested after ‘permitting 10-year-old son to drive pick-up truck on freeway’

A person who allegedly allowed his 10-year-old son to drive a pick-up truck on a freeway in Arizona has been arrested.

The automobile was stated to be rushing and weaving between lanes on State Route 101 in Scottsdale, east of Phoenix.

There was an “open container of alcohol” within the automobile, it has been claimed.

Officials from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated the boy led troopers on a short pursuit on Saturday afternoon earlier than being pulled over – and that his 49-year-old father was within the passenger seat.

A motorist referred to as 911 to report the weird state of affairs, DPS stated.

An officer noticed the automobile and tried to cease it after seeing the motive force altering lanes unsafely.

The boy finally pulled over in an emergency lane.

His father was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office jail on suspicion of endangerment, unlawfully allowing a minor to drive, and having open alcohol within the automobile.

It is unclear whether or not he stays in custody or has been launched on bail.
