Rescuers are trying to find six skiers who’ve gone lacking amid troublesome climate situations within the Swiss Alps.

The cross-country skiers – 5 of whom are members of the identical household – had set off on a ski tour from the Alpine city of Zermatt, Switzerland.

They went lacking round Tête Blanche mountain on Saturday, on the Zermatt-Arolla path close to the Matterhorn mountain that straddles the Switzerland-Italy border, police stated.

The authorities added {that a} storm “raging in the south of the Alps and the risk of avalanches has prevented helicopters and rescuers from approaching the area”.

The lacking skiers are between the ages of 21 and 58.

Five of them belong to at least one household from Switzerland’s Valais canton whereas the sixth particular person is from the town of Valais.
