Holland America deaths: Two crew members die after ‘incident’ on cruise ship in Bahamas

Two crew members have died on a Holland America cruise ship throughout an “incident” within the ship’s engineering house, the cruise line has mentioned.

The pair died on Friday whereas the Nieuw Amsterdam liner was on the small island of Half Moon Cay within the Bahamas, Holland America added in a press release.

Officials have been notified and the trigger is being investigated.

Other crew members have been provided counselling.

Holland America mentioned it was “deeply saddened” by the deaths, including: “Our ideas and prayers are with our crew members’ households at this troublesome time.

“The safety, security and welfare of all guests and crew are the company’s absolute priority.”

No additional particulars in regards to the crew members have been shared.
