Utah pet cat discovered after week trapped inside Amazon return field to California

A cat from Utah has been present in a Californian Amazon warehouse after being by chance shipped in a return field by her house owners.

Galena vanished on 10 April – leaving her house owners perplexed as to her whereabouts after household and mates helped them search their dwelling and neighbourhood with out success.

Owner Carrie Clark instructed KSL TV – an affiliate of Sky’s US associate NBC News – that she obtained a textual content message on 17 April informing her Galena’s microchip had been scanned.

Immediately afterwards she received a name from a vet in California.

“I didn’t believe her at first and thought it was a prank,” she instructed KSL.

“I ran to tell my husband that Galena was found and we broke down upon realising that she must have jumped into an oversized box that we shipped out the previous Wednesday.

“The field was a ‘strive earlier than your purchase’ and crammed with steel-toed work boots.”

Galena had been trapped inside for six days with out meals or water.

Ms Clark instructed KSL she was in a position to communicate with the Amazon warehouse employee, Brandy, who discovered Galena. The Amazon worker instructed Clark over the cellphone that she took care of Galena earlier than taking her to the vet the following day.

Upon getting the decision, the couple booked a flight for the following day and had been reunited with the household pet.

“Despite being skinnier and some mild dehydration, her bloodwork was completely normal and she was completely unharmed,” Ms Clark mentioned.

The couple up to date a Facebook submit on a Utah county misplaced and located pets group web page and hailed Galena’s “survival story”.

They wrote: “We’re in awe of all the tender mercies that have taken place. It’s a total miracle!!”

Ms Clark instructed KSL she needs to encourage all pet house owners to microchip their animals, and added: “Triple check your Amazon boxes.”
