‘Hungry’ South Korean scholar takes banana from Maurizio Cattelan’s artwork set up from wall and eats it

Some would say his paintings is sweet sufficient to eat – or maybe this was only a case of forbidden fruit.

But Maurizio Cattelan grew to become the sufferer of his personal creative greatness over the weekend after a hungry South Korean scholar ate a banana that was a part of certainly one of his artwork installations.

The paintings, referred to as Comedian, was a part of Mr Cattelan’s exhibition WE at Seoul’s Leeum Museum of Art, and consisted of a ripe banana duct-taped to a wall.

Feeling peckish, artwork scholar Noh Huyn-soo, from Seoul National University, ripped the banana from the wall upon his go to to the museum, earlier than devouring it as a snack in entrance of shocked onlookers.

He then taped the peel again onto the wall, with the museum later changing it with a contemporary banana.

Videos posted on-line present Mr Noh taking the banana off the wall earlier than shouts of “excuse me” might be heard.

But he selected to not reply – as a substitute deciding to eat the fruity snack.

Mr Noh later revealed he noticed Mr Cattelan’s work as a rise up in opposition to a sure authority.
