All 400 branches of collapsed retailer Wilko will shut by early October with the “likely” lack of all 12,500 jobs on the chain, in accordance with the GMB.
The union stated it was knowledgeable of the event by directors PwC on Monday morning.
PwC declined to remark.
The GMB stated it meant it was now “likely” that every one of Wilko’s employees would now be made redundant.
It comes after a rescue deal involving the proprietor of HMV collapsed.
Wilko – owned by the founding Wilkinson household for many years – collapsed into administration final month.
