JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Iran and Saudi Arabia are amongst six nations invited Thursday to affix the BRICS bloc of creating economies.

United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Egypt and Ethiopia are additionally set to affix the bloc from 2024.

The announcement was made on the BRICS summit in Johannesburg by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, whose nation is the present BRICS chair.



BRICS is at the moment made up of the rising economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Those 5 members agreed at this week’s summit to broaden the bloc.
