Cakegate: Bakery proprietor thanks supporters for ‘solidarity’ after row with ex-Coronation Street star
The bakery proprietor embroiled within the so-called "cakegate" social media row has thanked supporters for his or her "solidarity".Rebecca Severs expressed her gratitude after folks backed her resolution to not give an unidentified "well-known" movie star - later revealed to be ex-Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley - free cake in change for promotion on social media and in OK! journal.
Tyldesley posted an Instagram story claiming she had "no idea" emails had been being despatched requesting a cake and 100 cupcakes for her birthday. The 39-year-old actress branded the row "utterly bizarre" and referred to it as "cakegate", earlier than having a dig at Ms Severs, saying: "I hope the cake lady got the exposure she was craving."
