Unbelievable DP retains it tied, then Arozarena walks it off
ST. PETERSBURG -- After Isaac Paredes and Taylor Walls turned an incredible double play to maintain the sport tied within the ninth, Randy Arozarena made certain the Rays walked off with a 2-1 win over the Twins on Wednesday evening at Tropicana Field.
After being shut out for eight innings by a whole-staff efficiency from the Rays, the Twins scored off high-leverage reliever Jason Adam and loaded the bases with one out. But Paredes stabbed a tough grounder hit by Ryan Jeffers and made a throw to second base from his knees, then Walls reached to catch it and completely fired the ball to first baseman Luke Raley to finish the inning-ending double play.
