Tiree Music Festival cancelled and followers stranded in ferry terminal throughout ‘excessive climate’

More than 100 folks needed to shelter in a single day in a ferry terminal after a music pageant was cancelled throughout extreme climate.

The MV Clansman ferry was round half-hour away from the island of Tiree, within the Inner Hebrides, on Thursday night when the Tiree Music Festival was axed resulting from robust winds and rain.

Bands together with Wet Wet Wet, Tidelines and Skerryvore have been set to play on the occasion, resulting from run from Friday till Sunday.

The CalMac vessel was unable to berth on the island because of the extreme climate and as an alternative returned to Oban on the mainland, arriving at round 10.30pm.

Mr Morrison estimated between 110 and 120 folks wanted to remain on the Oban terminal constructing in a single day.

Bottled water was supplied by CalMac all through the evening and refreshments and snacks have been provided from an area retailer.
