Travis Scott is not going to face legal expenses over lethal crowd crush at competition

The rapper Travis Scott is not going to face legal expenses over a lethal crowd crush throughout his live performance, a Texas grand jury has determined.

Scott, 32, was performing on the Astroworld music competition in Houston, Texas, in 2021, when 10 individuals have been killed in a crowd crush.

His lawyer, Kent Schaffer, confirmed {that a} grand jury had determined to not indict the rapper on any legal expenses stemming from the occasion.

“He never encouraged people to do anything that resulted in other people being hurt,” Schaffer stated, including that the choice is “a great relief”.

Police and federal officers have been investigating whether or not Scott, the live performance promoter Live Nation, and others had enough security measures in place.

Schaffer stated he feels sympathy for many who have been killed on the competition and their households. “But Travis is not responsible”, he stated. “Bringing criminal charges against him will not ease their pain.”
