Wrexham: Hollywood star Paul Rudd drinks beer and sings with followers forward of crunch National League match

Hollywood star Paul Rudd joined Wrexham followers within the pub forward of their essential National League sport on Saturday.

The Ant-Man actor, 52, was noticed ingesting beer and singing songs with supporters on the Turf pub, subsequent to the city’s Racecourse Ground forward of the membership’s conflict with Boreham Wood.

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns the membership with fellow actor Rob McElhenney, revealed how he was “terribly nervous” as he arrived to observe Wrexham’s bid to safe three factors and a promotion from the National League.

Supporter Paul Novelli, who travelled from the US state of Kentucky for his fourth journey to Wrexham, took a selfie with Rudd and one other fan, Sandy, from Canada.

Mr Novielli described Rudd as “super nice” after he fortunately posed for photos.

“(I) just said hi, can you take a picture, he said yeah… I asked if he’s having a good time and he said ‘amazing’,” the 37-year-old stated.

The fan, who runs a podcast known as Up The Town devoted to Wrexham, stated Rudd joined in with chants together with Super Paul Mullin and Allez Allez Allez on the pub.

He sat with the proprietor of the pub, Wayne Jones, and did some “sing songs”, Mr Novielli added.

“(He) engaged with a lot of people, took pictures – he was super nice.”

Delighted followers shared their selfies on social media, with one posting “thanks for the pic Paul Rudd #OnlyinWrexham”.

Another wrote “Normal day in Wrexham please” together with an image with of Rudd holding a pint.

The RobRyanCrimson Wrexham AFC Podcast tweeted footage of Rudd greeting supporters, carrying sun shades and a baseball cap.

One fan posted on Instagram: “Ant-Man meets Deadpool” with an image displaying a smiling Rudd holding a pint aloft.

Victory would safe promotion to League Two for the Welsh membership, who’ve attracted worldwide consideration since their takeover by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
