Former Proud Boys chief convicted of orchestrating plot to assault US Capitol on 6 January 2021
Former chief of far-right group the Proud Boys Enrique Tarrio has been convicted of orchestrating a plot to assault the US Capitol on 6 January 2021. The assault led to members of the group storming the constructing after Joe Biden was formally confirmed as the following president.
Tarrio, together with three different members of the group, have been discovered responsible of seditious conspiracy - which is conspiring towards the legitimacy of the state.During the election marketing campaign, Donald Trump spoke on to the Proud Boys, often called a militant, gun-carrying group, telling them to "stand back and stand by".The costs carry as much as 20 years in jail.
