Attorney General Garland will appoint particular counsel in Hunter Biden probe

Attorney General Merrick Garland introduced Friday he’s appointing a particular counsel within the Hunter Biden probe, deepening the investigation of the president’s son forward of the 2024 election.

Garland stated he’s naming David Weiss, the U.S. legal professional in Delaware who has been probing the monetary and enterprise dealings of the president’s son, because the particular counsel.

Garland stated on Tuesday that Weiss advised him that “in his judgment, his investigation has reached a stage at which he should continue his work as a Special Counsel, and he asked to be appointed.”



The transfer is a momentous improvement from the usually cautious Garland and comes amid a pair of sweeping Justice Department probes into Donald Trump, the previous president, and President Joe Biden’s chief rival in subsequent 12 months’s election.
