Julian Knight: Essex Police to analyze MP accused of great sexual assault

An allegation of great sexual assault made towards MP Julian Knight is being seemed into by Essex Police, after the case was referred to them by one other power.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed in December that it was finishing up an investigation into the then-Conservative MP, who had the celebration whip withdrawn after the inquiry was launched.

The power stated in March that its investigation was over.

But the case has now been handed over to the neighbouring staff, which has confirmed they’re investigating a single allegation.

Mr Knight has denied any accusations towards him all through.

A press release from Essex Police stated: “We have agreed to take on an investigation which has been referred to us from the Metropolitan Police Service. We are investigating an allegation of serious sexual assault.

“Detectives who concentrate on circumstances of this type will collect proof and conduct an intensive investigation. The senior investigating officer has in depth expertise with the power.”

The force also said the investigation “stays at an early stage”.
