Padres promote 17-year-old high prospect to Double-A (report)

The 17-year-old catcher was not within the lineup Sunday for High-A Fort Wayne. Salas has performed simply 9 video games with the TinCaps, hitting .200 with one double and no residence runs. He was promoted to High-A on Aug. 8 after beginning the season with Single-A Lake Elsinore. At the Single-A degree, Salas hit .267 with 9 residence runs and an .837 OPS in 48 video games.
