Giancarlo Stanton was placed on the injured record with a left hamstring pressure, the Yankees introduced on Sunday morning. Infielder Oswald Peraza was recalled to the Major League roster as a corresponding transfer.
Stanton, who left Saturday’s sport for a pinch-runner instantly after stroking a two-run double off the wall, was off to a robust begin to the 2023 season, hitting .269 with 4 house runs and 11 RBIs in 13 video games. Manager Aaron Boone mentioned Sunday on MLB Network Radio that Stanton would bear an MRI examination.
Peraza hit .306 in 18 video games for the Yankees final season. He has hit .290 with 4 RBIs and 5 steals in 9 video games with Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.
