BRIGHTON, England (AP) – Germany midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will signal for Brighton on a free switch after Borussia Dortmund allowed his contract to run out.
Brighton mentioned Friday that the 27-year-old Dahoud will be part of on a four-year contract. His contract with Dortmund ends on June 30.
“I’m excited to have Mahmoud in my team. I wanted him when I was at Sassuolo (as coach from 2018-21) and I’m sure he is going to be a top player for us,” Brighton coach Roberto de Zerbi mentioned.
Dahoud, who was born in Syria, has made 141 appearances in 5 seasons for Dortmund since becoming a member of in 2017. He performed two video games for the German nationwide staff in 2020. A shoulder damage meant he performed solely a marginal position in Dortmund’s title problem this season, that includes in 9 Bundesliga video games and none since April 1.
After Brighton completed sixth within the Premier League final season, Dahoud is the second midfielder to hitch the membership on a free switch following 37-year-old James Milner’s arrival on a one-year deal. Brighton has additionally signed ahead João Pedro from second-division membership Watford.
