Feminine rugby ref Joy Neville to officiate at males’s World Cup

DUBLIN — A feminine referee has been included within the record of match officers for a males’s Rugby World Cup for the primary time.

Joy Neville of Ireland was amongst a gaggle of 26 match officers representing 9 nations introduced by World Rugby on Wednesday.

Neville, who was the referee for the Women’s World Cup last in 2017, will probably be one of many tv match officers.

Nika Amashukeli would be the first Georgian to officiate at a Rugby World Cup, as one of many 12 referees chosen.

English referee Wayne Barnes will officiate at a file fifth Rugby World Cup, having made his debut on the 2007 match in France.

The Rugby World Cup is being held in France from Sept. 8-Oct. 28.
