Climate protesters briefly interrupted a tennis match between Andy Murray and Taylor Fritz in D.C.

WASHINGTON — Climate protesters briefly interrupted a match on the DC Open tennis event Friday between three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray and top-seeded Taylor Fritz.

Action was delayed within the first set when three jumbo tennis balls had been tossed onto the courtroom within the occasion’s major stadium.

In the stands, some folks chanted and displayed indicators protesting using fossil fuels.



A spokesperson for the event stated there was no harm accomplished to the courtroom.

At Wimbledon final month, three environmental activists had been arrested after leaping out of the stands to disrupt matches by scattering orange confetti and puzzle items on the courtroom.
