A match at Wimbledon was briefly interrupted Wednesday as local weather activists ran on the courtroom and threw orange materials on the tennis grass.
Two protesters from the group Just Stop Oil put a pause on the match between Grigor Dimitrov and Sho Shimabukuro with their antics, which included throwing orange confetti and jigsaw items on the courtroom amid boos from the gang.
Security rapidly corralled the 2 activists and moved them off the courtroom.
“Following an incident on Court 18, two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and criminal damage and these individuals have now been removed from the grounds,” the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, Wimbledon’s organizer, stated in a press release to the BBC.
Ball boys and ball ladies cleaned up the orange items earlier than play resumed.
