Rain delayed play and created heavy situations on the crimson clay.
Bondar battled by the first-set tiebreaker. In the second set, Cocciaretto asserted her aggression a bit extra knocking off a smash to take the second-set tiebreaker and power a decider.
Despite carrying taping round her proper shoulder and left thigh, Cocciaretto was transferring easily within the last set. Pushing Bondar corner-to-corner she provoked an error to interrupt again for 3-3 within the decider.
Cocciaretto reeled off eight of the final 10 factors to safe a spot in her second last of the season and first since she was runner-up to Lauren Davis within the Hobart last final January. Cocciaretto improved to 18-13 on the season, together with a 5-4 file in three-setters.
The world No. 42 will play a Frenchwoman, both Diane Parry or Clara Burel, in tomorrow’s Lausanne last.
