A devastated Andy Murray took the courtroom on Thursday to announce that… he wouldn’t be taking the courtroom. The three-time National Bank Open champion picked up an belly subject earlier this week and needed to pull out of the draw, sending Italy’s Jannik Sinner via to the quarterfinals.
“I’ve rarely been in this situation in my career and I feel I feel terrible,” Murray stated, including: “This might be my last time playing here as well. So to finish like this feels feels rubbish.”
Murray handled the same subject final 12 months and stated that he wanted about 10 to 12 days to really feel proper once more. The US Open begins in 18 days, on Monday August 28.

At this level it’s not identified if Murray will try and play subsequent week in Cincinnati.
“I had a very similar issue last year in the tournament in Stuttgart before Wimbledon which forced me to miss the Queen’s club tournament,” Murray stated. “And I was able to play Wimbledon. It took me about 10 to 12 days before I was feeling good. This is not as bad as that but obviously the danger if you compete and play on it is you make it worse. So yeah, I need to see how it develops over the coming days. And hopefully feel better in a few days.”
