Tsitsipas, Medvedev and Shapovalov win openers in Halle

HALLE, Germany — Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev and Denis Shapovalov progressed from the primary spherical of the Halle Open on Monday, although some had a better time on the grass-court match.

The second-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas wanted 2 hours, 22 minutes earlier than he ultimately prevailed in opposition to French participant Gregoire Barrere 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Tsitsipas, who was upset by veteran French participant Richard Gasquet in Stuttgart final week, was headed for an additional loss as he trailed by a set and a break at 3-1 down within the second set, however he recovered for a second-round assembly with Nicolas Jarry.
