A person convicted of killing his girlfriend in Pennsylvania, and sought by Brazil, escapes jail

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) — A person convicted this month of fatally stabbing his girlfriend escaped Thursday from a suburban Philadelphia jail and prosecutors say he’s additionally needed in his native Brazil in a separate slaying.

Danelo Cavalcante, 34, eluded guards on the Chester County Prison in West Chester earlier than 9 a.m., and was seen almost an hour later strolling on a highway close to the jail, authorities mentioned.

A jury took simply quarter-hour to convict Cavalcante of killing Deborah Brandao, his girlfriend of two years, in entrance of her youngsters at her residence in Schuylkill Township in April 2021.
