President Biden brushed apart impeachment discuss late Wednesday saying he was going to deal with his job and never what he claims is a political stunt.
In his first public remarks since House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, California Republican, launched an impeachment inquiry on Tuesday, Mr. Biden dismissed issues that it may affect his presidency.
“Well, I’ll tell you what. I don’t know quite why, but they just knew they wanted to impeach me. Now, best I can tell they want to impeachment me because they want to shutdown the government,” Mr. Biden stated at a marketing campaign fundraiser in Virginia.
“Everybody always asked about impeachment. I get up every day not focused on impeachment, I’ve got a job to do. I’ve got to deal with issues that affect American people every single solitary day,” he continued.
Republicans have accused Mr. Biden of taking advantage of the international enterprise ventures of his son, Hunter Biden, whereas he served as vp within the Obama administration. They say Mr. Biden used his affect to illegally revenue from his son’s enterprise dealings.
The White House is adamant that Mr. Biden did nothing improper and that Republicans have turned up no proof to recommend in any other case or that the president was concerned in Hunter Biden’s enterprise dealings.
By launching a proper probe, it provides the House extra subpoena and investigative powers. For instance, Mr. McCarthy stated the inquiry would allow committees to acquire financial institution statements and different paperwork associated to the Biden household enterprise dealings.
