British Airways hit with $1.1m wonderful by the US authorities

British Airways has been hit with a wonderful of $1.1m (£877,000) by United States authorities.

The US Transportation Department issued the punishment to the airline for failing to offer well timed refunds to passengers for flights to and from America in the course of the COVID pandemic.

It mentioned it had acquired greater than 1,200 complaints alleging the airline failed to offer well timed refunds.

BA disputes the allegations.
