Dime and sprint: Thieves steal $100,000 value of cash from a truck

Thieves in Philadelphia broke right into a truck crammed with $750,000 (£598,000) value of dimes.

The suspects made off with a piece of the cargo – leaving 10-cent cash scattered round a Philadelphia automotive park.

Police say the thieves apparently fled with no less than $100,000 (£80,000).

The theft was reported round 6am on Thursday.

The driver had picked up the cash from the Philadelphia Mint on Wednesday, and was planning to move them to Florida on Thursday.
