Flat tire strands 71 passengers on monorail at Disney World’s EPCOT

A flat tire on one of many monorail trains at Walt Disney World Tuesday left the car stranded. The 71 passengers aboard have been finally evacuated after an 80-minute wait.

The car was close to the car parking zone toll plaza for the EPCOT park in Orlando, Florida, when it blew a tire. Riders aboard seen indicators of the upcoming blowout, together with the odor of burning rubber, proper earlier than it occurred.

“There was a loud bang explosion, and then we kind of saw a big flash of light. After that, the monorail slowed down. Mr. Lenk added that Disney made up for the flat by giving him and his girlfriend $200 in reward playing cards and passes that allow guests skip to the entrance of the road for rides.

“This morning, the monorail experienced a flat tire near the EPCOT parking lot toll plaza. No guests or cast members have reported injuries, and all passengers were safely evacuated,” Disney advised the Orlando Sentinel in an announcement.
